When I took over purchasing in 2020, I thought I had it all figured out. Find the cheapest quote that meets the basic specs, place the order, done. That worked for office supplies. It nearly broke us for industrial pumps.

So when you see a low price from an unknown brand, what you're really seeing is a product that was built to the minimum industry standard. Maybe it's perfect for a clean-water system. But in a refinery or chemical plant, “minimum” means higher failure risk, shorter lifecycle, and eventually—unplanned downtime.
In my experience, the industry has changed. Five years ago, a handful of big brands dominated the pump market.
